Peter Mathias

Peter is a Chartered Architect, a co-founder of the international practice Holder Mathias Architects and latterly its Senior Partner/Chairman before his retirement in 2013. During his professional life his role involved advising clients on major mixed development projects and their associated business plans. During his career he was President of the Royal Society of Architects in Wales and a Council Member of the Royal Institute of Architects (RIBA). He chaired its Sound Practice Working Group and was latterly a member of the reorganised RIBA Board. Outside his professional interests, he enjoys the performing arts, and was a member of the Board of Welsh National Opera and a Governor of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama before its incorporation into the University of South Wales Group, a member of its Finance and General Purposes Committee and Chaired its Estates Committee. With the reorganising of the Tirion Group, he was appointed as Group Chair in 2014. His knowledge of residential design and master planning along with a strong social commitment, his experience in governance, business and commercial affairs enables him to make a unique contribution in chairing the Group Board during its formative stages.
